We believe that your family is your greatest treasure. We want to help you bring the walls of your home to life with your very own works of heART.
Planning for your family session will begin with emails and phone consultations, allowing me to get a feel for your visions, collaborate on location choices, and assist with wardrobe coordination. I will help in any way you need throughout the process. When we finally meet, we will take a minute to warm up and get to know each of your interests and unique personalities for a truly personal session. The session itself will last approximately 1-1.5 hours during hours just before the sunsets for the best natural light. During the shoot I will capture natural interactions as well as more “posed” groupings you are most interested in documenting.
My style of photography is both casual and natural. I may direct you to look, speak, or pose yourselves in specific ways, but some of my most favorite shots are the ones taken in between when you are relaxed and less aware of the camera. There is no need for ‘acting’ or ‘pretending’ when it comes to loving your children- that comes naturally and I aim to capture that very real love and connection.
About two weeks after your session, at your in-home session premiere, you will see you gorgeous images for the first time presented in a beautiful one-of-a-kind slideshow. We will work together to plan out and design custom wall art and heirloom products that you will treasure for a lifetime. I will not leave you alone to wade through a confusing online gallery. I will be there to guide you through the entire ordering process.
Melissa White Photography offers professional prints starting at 75 for mounted gift prints (8x10 and smaller) as well as a variety of boutique products such as fine-art gallery wrapped canvases, image boxes, albums and custom designed holiday cards, announcements and invitations. We only use the best products that there are to offer. You can be secure in the fact that all of your products will be heirloom quality.
Collections begin at 1000 with a stunning array of boutique products and custom wall art in each collection. Digital archive collections begin at 2000. There is a 850 minimum order requirement for full family sessions, however on average, clients typically invest 1200-3500 from start to finish on their custom boutique photography experience with Melissa White Photography.

This is a 60 minute session, scheduled on a date and at a location (in or around SLO) of your choosing. Plenty of time for family, individual, siblings, posed shots as well as more casual and candid captures. No need to choose or narrow down your favorites- digital image files + print release of ALL images (typically 50-75) are included.
3. The Stand Alone Mini Session - 550 + tax

Stand alone Mini Sessions are 30 minutes, scheduled on a date and at a location (in or around SLO) of your choosing. Includes 15 digital image files of your choosing from an online gallery. Additional digital images ($40 each), as well as prints and products can be added to your order as well (no additional order required, but available).

If you are wanting an updated family portrait and individual portraits of your children, a few digital image files with print release to make prints and gifts for family, and a quick, painless, affordable and FUN way to make this happen, then a MWP Mini Session is the perfect option for YOU! Mini sessions are offered ONLY on specific dates, at predetermined locations, during the last 2 hours before sunset for optimal lighting conditions. This is our very efficient, abbreviated session experience...short on time, but BIG on the important stuff. During each 20 minute session, we create a beautiful gallery full of MANY beautiful images to choose the 7 digital image files that are included with the mini session fee- full family portraits, siblings, individuals, mom + kids, dad + kids, mom + dad, and even a few candid moments... we capture it ALL!
